John Heitinga, Ajax’s boss, says that Mohammed Kudus is the sort of athlete who gets people excited to come watch a game.

With his career at Ajax fully settled after he recovered from an illness, Kudus is presently having his most fruitful period in front of goal.

The 22-year-old didn’t score in Ajax’s 3-0 Dutch Cup victory over De Graafschap on Thursday, but he did assist on all three goals.

However, in recent games, he has been on fire, contributing 16 goals and 4 assists for a total of 20 points.

Ajax manager Heitinga reacted to Kudus’ recent showing against De Graafschap by saying the Ghanaian possesses remarkable characteristics.

“As a performer, Mohammed Kudus stands out from the crowd. He’s the type of player you go to the arena to see because he can get by defenders and thrives in tight areas “His words.

Kudus has been ranked higher than Manchester United’s Antony by three-time Ballon d’Or champion Marco van Basten.

For two years, Kudus and Antony were teammates at Ajax before the Brazilian left for the Red Devils in the summer of 2018 for €100 million.

However, Van Basten, who won numerous local and Continental titles with Ajax and AC Milan in addition to the Olympics with the Netherlands, thinks Kudus is superior to Antony.

“I find Mohammed Kudus a better football player than Antony,” Van Basten said while on punditry duty.

“Antony has his skills, but he is confusing with the things he is trying to do. Mohammed Kudus is more technical as well. This is someone you can place anywhere on the pitch, he is an all-rounder.”

Kudus scored two goals at the Qatar 2022 World Cup for Ghana and is currently rated among the best young players in the world.
