Former head coach of Ghana U-20 Sellas Tetteh has revealed that he has not yet been paid a dime for his role in guiding Ghana to victory at the 2010 U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
Having led the Black Satellites to victory at the 2009 African Youth Championship in Rwanda, Sellas Tetteh then guided the team to victory at the U-20 World Cup in Cairo.
“I have been discussing with Kurt Okraku because since we [technical team] won the World Cup they didn’t pay us any money. There was a document for it. I went and discuss that with Kurt Okraku,” Sellas Tetteh disclosed in an interview with Sports Obama TV.
“At least they were supposed to give us $4000. As for the players their money and all those things, they were not paid anything. They kept it in an account for them.”
“I have spoken to the people in charge and Kurt Okraku but he has been busy because of the World Cup. I will try and meet him and talk to him,” he added.
Sellas Tetteh recently served as Liberty Professionals’ interim manager after the conclusion of the 2020–21 Premier League season, although he was unable to retain the team in the top division.
