Video: Twene Jonas Blast Police IGP for Demostration chaos
The Popular American-based Ghanaian social media commentator has put his mouth on the ongoing demonstration in Accra Ghana. Arise Ghana Demonstration is aimed at protesting against the current economic hardship in the country.
The demonstration which started on Tuesday 28 June 2022 did not end well with the protestors as the police try to stop them causing chaos in the Capital city. According to the Ghana police service, the protestors did not provide a court injunction during the period of the demonstration. In an attempt to stop the protestors, the police fired tear gas into the group of protestors but the protestors fought back by throwing stones and other objects at the police.
Twelve policemen were injured and 29 protestors were arrested yesterday.
According to Jonas, the demonstration is part of governance and the citizen has the right to demonstrate against unlawful acts and decisions they find inappropriate by the government.
He then blames the IGP for the chaos that happens between his people and the citizens at the demonstration. Jonas also raised insults at the police IGP for not teaching his people the primary goal of the police which is to protect the citizens in the country and not to fight them.
Twene Jonas thinks President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and his administration are responsible for the economic hardship in the country. The filmmaker says the President should focus on building factories and creating job opportunities for the people and stop the idea of building a Cathedral with a huge amount of dollars.
