Nhyiaeso Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Ernest Afayam is urging the police and other stakeholders not to watch on when violence is perpetuated in election-related activities.

He has in the same vein condemned the inciteful message contained in a video in which the NDC Youth Organizer of Suame Constituency is calling on the party’s youth to prepare and attack the NPP in their quest to wrestle power in 2024.

Discussing the content of the viral video on Kumasi based Ultimate FM; Chairman Afayam noted that the content of the video was disturbing and unfortunate as it does not represent the position of the peace loving NDC.

“The NDC is a peace-loving party, and I can confidently say that the content of the video is unfortunate. The Youngman I know was trying to communicate something to the people but it obviously did not come out well. We should forgive him” he said.

The Nhyiaeso Chairman is however worried about the loud silence of the police and other security stakeholders when a number of violent acts have gone unpunished.

“Let’s be frank with ourselves, there have been a number of violent acts in our body politics that have gone unpunished under this administration, I mean the Nana Addo administration, when these things happen, it pains people and it pushes emotions high. We must ask questions and get some answers. This is also not right” he lamented.
