
It was an eyesore at the demonstration grounds as a section of Arise Ghana demonstrators clashed with personnel of the Ghana Police Service deployed to ensure a peaceful demonstration.
According to multiple reports, it took the intervention of the police to fire tear gas before the crowd was able to disperse.
The cause of the clash is currently unknown.
Following the unfortunate incident, Kwame Nkrumah Interchange road was closed, with no movement from either vehicles or persons.
Some videos sighted by ABC News from the demonstration grounds show some protestors pelting stones at the police personnel. There were also massive damages to some vehicles including a police van that was parked by the roadside.
Meanwhile the Ghana Police Service has arrested three protesters of the ongoing Arise Ghana Demonstration.
The three were allegedly picked up for their involvement in the chaos that marred the demonstration.
