Ofori Atta running Ghana aground with advise from Data Bank workers – Mahama

Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has observed that it’s a pity that Ghana’s Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is impervious to advice from seasoned professionals in the Finance Sector and works with the advice from his employers at Data Bank.

He indicates that Ghana is at its current state because Finance Minister has decided to depend on advice from his workers and ignore the technical people who are experienced in managing the economy of a country.

John Dramani Mahama believes that if the Finance Minister listens to advice, the country would not have been where it is currently.

“To be clear, we are in this mess because an untouchable Finance Minister relying on his Data Bank workers and neglecting the advice of seasoned professionals at the Finance Ministry has been left to run this economy into the ground.

We are in this mess because the so-called solid economic management team over the last several years has been unable to call the President’s cousin to order when he embarked on a reckless borrowing spree, when embarked on an indiscriminate closure of indigenous Financial Institutions and when embarked on creative presentation of statistics to make our situation rosier than the reality.
