The President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Angel Carbonu has disclosed the Salary of Headmasters and Mistresses of the various Senior High Schools in Ghana and it’s just hard to believe.
According to Mr Carbonu who spoke in an interview monitored on OkayFM this morning with Kwame, he said “I can say for a fact that all the heads receive less than ghc4000.” He mentioned schools like Adisadel, PRESEC, Achimota, Etc. He said it is just the name but that doesn’t reflect in salary structure.
He noted that they are asking for 20% of their gross salary and nothing else.
The revelation came as a surprised to many who thought the head of these big school received higher remuneration.
It is hopeful that the government will reach a fruitful agreement with the striking teachers to address their concerns.
