‘Mosquito stings’ Duffuor for breaking party protocols
A 2024 Presidential Hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, has been scolded by General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia a.k.a. General Mosquito.
The castigation follows the former Finance Minister’s personal actions within the party under the Ahotor Project which according to the party did not follow protocol.
The Ahotor Project was engineered by Dr. Duffuor. However, the party believes its leadership should be informed before certain donations be and other projects be made since he has an intention of running for the flagbearer of the party.
This is to avoid an undue advantage on his part without.going through the appropriate channel.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia clarified that, whatever donation any party member wants to make after coming to the leadership would be distributed accordingly, but not to be done by the persons involved personally.
“If Dr Duffour intends to make this donation to the party a genuine donation, he should be prepared to pass through the proper channels,” he said.
The NDC General Secretary said they have been written to that an NGO will manage the Ahotor Project, much to the party’s surprise.
Without the approval of the party’s leadership, mo such donations should be undertaken by party members.
“He has his equipment. Whatever he is doing with his euqipment, it cannot happen in the name of NDC,” he noted.
