Fire has gutted a police quarters at Kpando Aloyi in the Kpando Municipality of the Volta Region rendering about Eight (8) officers and their dependents homeless.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known but the inferno destroyed properties estimated at several thousands of Ghana cedis.

According to a police situational report sighted by MyNewsGh.com, all the belongings of the personnel were reduced to ashes.

It  took personnel of Ghana National Fire Service from  Kpando and Anfoega about two hours to bring the fire under complete control.

The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Joefrey Badasu, Regional commander; DCOP Mr Faakye Kumi, ACP Larmtey Hohoe Divisional Commander, District Commander Chief Superintendent Samuel Yeboah and the Divisional Crime officer Mr Godwin Alormenu were at the scene to commiserate with the affected personnel and their relatives and to assess the situation

The victims have been temporarily sheltered at Same Sisters Guest House in the municipality.
