Gabby’s conduct making ‘nonsense’ of NPP rebuilding efforts — Minister
Influential cousin of President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko has been accused of “scattering” the New Patriotic Party NPP and the government of his cousin with his attitude.
The controversial Gabby Otchere-Darko who holds no portfolio in government has been repeatedly accused of arrogance by Party and non-party members alike.
However, for the first time, a senior government and Parliamentary figure has spoken about Gabby Otchere-Darko.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu said Gabby keep scattering the government while others are rebuilding.
“There are people who would rather want to scatter things while we are committed to uniting [the party and government]. Nw this has brought about another sense of anger. That Gabby Otchere-Darko, who does he think he is?!”
The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs was speaking on Sompa FM in the Ashanti Regional capital.
The MP and Majority Leader proceeded to outline how the recent Rebel MP Presser came about and its aftermath.
“With the way the thing started, if I had not been hinted at by a colleague to intervene, we would have been in a bad place.
Today is November 15, and we were supposed to present the budget today. but we had to postpone to 24th because I realised we may not be prepared after studying the situation. I sat with the finance minister and agreed with him to postpone it. After doing this and you turn to accuse me of being an instigator, what if I decide to watch and let everything fall apart?’ he asked.
