Fear grips Adeiso residents over increasing rate of new HIV infections

Fear has gripped residents in Adeiso in the Upper West Akim District in the Eastern following the increasing rate of new HIV infections.

Rainbowradioonline.com has gathered that several individuals have tested positive for the virus and are on anti-retroviral drugs.

Benjamin Bediako, a licenced pharmacy operator in the area, told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that several people who came to test for malaria ended up testing positive for the virus.

According to him, such reports were forwarded to the local disease control, and when the cases were confirmed, the majority of those involved tested positive.

The situation is said to have created fear and panic among the residents in the area.
