We went to court with no evidence Asiedu Nketia confesses in leaked tape

Chairman hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has after several months of denial confessed that the NDC went to the Supreme naked without evidence.

He says the party’s software for collation crashed five minutes into the exercise and therefore they had to rely on manual collation that also failed woefully.

Asiedu Nketia who hopes to lead the NDC as Chairman made this known when he was speaking to delegates of Ghana’s largest opposition political party.

He said even the manual collation which was done by a Committee of University Dons and Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo left much to be desired of it.

Adding that he as a known face with expertise in elections in Ghana could not have presented such a disgraceful evidence in court.

“We could not get evidence to challenge the Electoral Commission. Before we went to court, a committee was set up to collate the results manually. Chairman Ofosu Ampofo was part of that Committee and the results they collated from the regions was appalling.

When it was time for me to present evidence in court, they brought me the work they had done. I wasn’t impressed at all because it would have been a disgrace for someone of my calibre and my history with elections to present such evidence in court. When they sent it to Lawyer Tsikata, he also looked into it and said it wasn’t great.

Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata said the only way the NDC could get its collated results from the election is if the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission was brought into the witness box to testify,” he said.
