Cape Coast South: NDC delegates vow to retire Kwaku Ricketts Hagan
Hundreds of opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) delegates in the Cape Coast South Constituency have vowed to retire the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. George Kwaku Ricketts Hagan in the upcoming parliamentary primaries slated for 13th May this year.
They made the resolve after mobilizing GH5,500.00 to pay for Mr. Ricketts Hagan’s main contender, Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah popularly known in politics as Skillful’s nomination forms in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
The NDC delegates including some executives who have rebelled against the incumbent indicate that they want the new candidate as the NDC parliamentary candidate in the 2024 parliamentary polls since the incumbent MP, Mr. Ricketts Hagan has disappointed them.
“Mr. Ricketts Hagan who has been in Parliament for 12 good years has neither created a single job nor employed the youth since we have a family to cater for”, they claimed.
The delegates who chanted songs after representing the form said “they have decided to follow Skillful and never will they return to Mr. Ricketts Hagan.
Receiving the nomination forms, the aspiring parliamentary candidate, saluted the delegates for the trust they had in him to pay for his form and promised to give off his best for the constituency.
He is optimistic about defeating his contender, Kwaku Ricketts and will also rebrand as well as make NDC attractive in Cape Coast South Constituency.
“I know by 13th May 2023 I will be crowned as the NDC Parliamentary candidate to maintain the seat for NDC party” Skillful envisaged.
“There is hope that Cape Coast South Constituency. We will soon have an MP who will be accountable, accessible and knows the people’s needs and want” Skillful promised.
