A.B.A Fuseini’s seat under threat; faces 7 challengers at NDC primaries
Veteran Journalist turned Alhaji Alhassan Bashir Fuseini fondy known as Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini would have about seven(7) persons to contend with when the National Democratic Congress(NDC) goes for its parliamentary primaries.
The man who has gained notority for his proverbs, has the highest number of challengers at the primaries in the Region as at Thursday March 2, 2023.
It is unclear why his constitueny is attracting large numbers compared to Kpandai where only one person is going.
Seen as very outspoken and a ranking memer of parliament’s communications commitee, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini in time past had a brawl with constituents who reminded him of the pact he had with them before being voted for as their Member of Parliament (MP); which was to champion development in the area and not the reverse.
According to the agitated constituents of Sagnarigu in the Northern Region, his colleagues have over the years become advocates for developments whilst he only gains notoriety in spewing proverbs which brings nothing to ameliorate their plight.
Abdul Latif Adams, a resident of Choggu-Yapalsi disclosed that their MP is not deserving of the title ‘Tumalana’ to wit great worker he has bestowed on himself revealing that it is the reverse of him.
“Our MP who calls himself Tumalana is not deserving of the name…he is telling lies. He only knows how to speak proverbs anytime they are interviewing him or in parliament. We didn’t send him there [parliament] to be speaking proverbs for us, we want him to work. A.B.A. Fuseini has not done anything in Tamale and Sagnarigu constituency.
He has been accused within the party in the area of underperfoming which may be why many others feel he has lost grasp of the constituency and are making efforts to unseat him.
The primaries however determines who will lead the NDC in the area in 2024 as campaigns intensify.
