More than 40 students of Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School at Asokore in the Ashanti region have been arrested for causing damage to school property.
The students went on rampage Sunday, January 22, 2023, protesting the poor results of their predecessors in their final examination.
OnuaOnline’s William Evans-Nkum reports about four government vehicles and two others owned by the teachers were destroyed.
The school’s stores were also not spared by the rampaging dtudents, also destroying several food items and supplies.
The police quick reponse restored calm on campus.
The school has since been shut down upon a decision by the Ashanti regional minister, Simon Osei Mensah.
The Ashanti regional Director of Education, Dr. Annor Ankrah, together with the district Director of Education were at the scene to restore calm in the school.
